REduced Solo Supplement on Luxury Cruise

Just saw the following on one of the many sites I troll daily to find affordable travel for Solo's

Although I have been told by another 'solo travel professional' that perhaps I am not suited for luxury travel "if I plan to wear my travel clothes on board".  She gets none of my yearly budget for travel.    See if this offering suites you......

Travelling solo? Regent Seven Seas Cruises offer reduced single supplements on selected sailings, making their cruises a perfect solution.

The number of people holidaying alone is increasing but it can still be difficult to find an arrangement that really works well and doesn't incur a hefty premium for single occupancy. Regent Seven Seas Cruises have reduced the single supplement on selected sailings, making their all-inclusive luxury cruise ships an option well worth considering for people travelling solo.

Travelling alone can be a daunting prospect, especially if it’s for the first time, but it can also be an enriching and rewarding experience. It offers the rarest components of true luxury travel - the chance to be selfish, to follow one’s own wishes and interests without having to compromise or negotiate. However, it can also be rather expensive, with the guest often being expected to pay as much as a couple occupying the same accommodation. Luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas are offering reduced single supplements on selected sailings, thereby making these cruises an attractive and cost-effective option for the solo traveller.
A cruise is one of the best holidays around for single travellers, providing a safe environment with like-minded people and allowing them to travel to places they might not be comfortable visiting on their own.
Kit Williams, cruise expert at luxury travel specialistSilver Compass, says “For many, travelling alone is not a choice, but for those that do, it can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience. It’s very different from travelling with one’s partner or friends but I love to travel solo at times too. Cruising is an ideal option from so many angles, but it’s important to seek the advice of an expert to ensure that the selected cruise is a good match for the traveller.”
It’s crucially important to choose the right ship and sailing; costs for single travellers can be high and not all sailings will have enough guests travelling alone to ensure that those who are don’t feel out of place.
Most cruise ships offer a variety of top quality restaurants and bars, entertainment and activities, as well as excursions to help make the most of the destinations. Many cruise lines include most or all of these in the fare, making a cruise holiday exceptional good value for money. In this environment, learning new hobbies and skills, discovering new places and making new friends couldn’t be easier, especially on some of the smaller ships.
It pays to look out for special promotions and to look closely at the single supplements. This is not just to take advantage of the cost savings but also because those are the sailings more likely to attract other like-minded solo travellers.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises is the most inclusive of the luxury cruise lines, with specially reduced single supplements currently available on selected 2013/2014 sailings. With these preferential fares, Regent is a particularly good option for single travellers. An unlimited number of excursions is included in the fare and the luxuriously appointed suites, most with balconies, are particularly spacious (at least 301 sq ft.).
With the option of in-suite dining at no extra cost, guests have total freedom to choose between mixing with new friends or having a quiet restful evening after a busy day. Many Regent cruises also offer single traveller get-togethers, facilitate those travelling alone to enjoy shore excursions together if they choose and also to make sure they have someone to join them at dinner, again if that’s what they want.
Examples of Regent’s special singles offers are:
23rd October 2013 | 10 nights | Rome to Venice| from £4951 (Cat F)
7th January 2014 | 10 nights |Sydney to Auckland | from £6451 (Cat E)

21st May 2014 | 7 nights | Alaska and the Inside Passage from Vancouver | from £5341 (Cat F)
The above fares are based on single occupancy of a Balcony suite and include: a reduced single supplement of 50% (available for F to D grades only); flights in economy class, transfers and 1 night pre-cruise hotel stay (B&B). Fares are subject to availability and capacity controlled so they may be withdrawn at any time, so don't miss the boat. Call us at Silver Compass for more information or to book.
